I am 40 something, divorced with the kids all grown up, 1 still at home. I have a cute young grandson who is absolutely adorable. I finished working in September last year due to a partial disability, and my then employer refusing to make the neccessary adjustments that were required, leading to me being unable to continue in my field of employment.
Boredom!! Yeah there is plenty of that, but by coming on here at least I get to be part of a virtual society.

I am enjoying being part of this community, thank you.

i hope it turns out well for you - i used to work in a centre with kids who had been turned away from main stream school for one reason or another - they were a real challenge at times but i loved every minute - the day i left 2 of the (cheeky) little lads came over and begged me not to leave - which i found very touching as it was the same 2 lads that had given me the hardest time when i first started the job, lol. It was only a temporary post, they were all great kids

good for you - it is a welcome change to hear from a person who is genuine in their feelings for the family pet - we hear so much about how pets are ill treated and discarded the drop of a hat - i hope you enjoy your new family member - great news. So sorry you lost your other dog

we are all aware that banks are notintrested in people - they are only interested in money - so it comes as no surprise that this lady was treated so disrespectfully - bank bosses seam to think they are some kind of elite species had have rights above all others - far as i am concerned they are just snobby thieves

it is always sad to hear of a death of our lads/lasses, they make the ultimate sacrifice so we can sleep soundly in our beds at night and walk the streets relatively safely during the day - my heart goes out to all the families who have members serving abroad - it must be heartbreaking when they have a loss to deal with - i have so much respect and admiration for our service men and women - i was a forces baby and brought up in a military family - i remember my dad getting medical discharge when he got half his leg shot off in Aden, i was only 6 years old but i can remember the anquish my mum went through when she got the news and how grateful she was when he made a recovery.

i can relate to this very easily - i am disabled and sometimes in bed for days on end in too much pain to get up - i have 4 children - 2 male who i havent seen for over 3 years, a daughter 3 miles away who i only have contact with once a fortnight due to work and a daughter who lives at home and works who spends her free time at her boyfriends, i have spent many days alone unable to even make phonecalls for help as even my hands have been imobilised, i have sat many hours in tears wishing someone would turn up at my home to help - i dont get visits from neighbours as most of them work and are tied up with their own family issues - i often think to myself, if something drastic happened to me how long would it take for people to realise something was seriously wrong - reading articles like this in the news is quite scarey.
